Iran to target exports to 15 neighboring states
Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Reza Rahmani said on Saturday that his ministry is to increase the export of non-oil commodities to 15 neighboring countries this year.
Given the country’s sensitive status and needs of the country for exports of non-oil goods, the minister underlined the need to walk in line with the ministry’s goals to utilize the capabilities and capacities of the Chamber of Commerce at the earliest opportunity.
Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has put export of non-oil goods and country’s production boom on its agenda, he said.
“Given the new conditions regarding the implementation of different tariff mechanisms, we are expected to witness a big jump in Iran’s exports to these 15 countries”, he said.
Certain officials have been appointed to monitor sound implementation of the task, Rahmani said.
Iran to ban import of goods to support domestic products: Minister

Reza Rahmani said in a meeting about domesticization of electrical, electronic, and telecommunication devices that this approach is acceptable and is the main strategy for solving problems like unemployment and inflation.
Rahmani said that Iran is to domesticize $10b worth of devices in the coming two years, $500m of which are in the power industry.
He said that the country is also planning to domisticize $1.4b for auto spare parts.
Rahmani added that Iran is also trying to double its export to its 15 neighboring countries in the next two years, to hit the figure of $48b.
He added that China imported about $2,000b dollars of goods last year and Iran has the capability to provide China with $700b of its products.
In January, Iranian lawmakers voted to ban advertisement for foreign products which have similar Iranian models.
They banned putting advertisement for foreign products in newspapers, on the state TV, on the walls, over the phone, in cyber space, and on the bulletin boards across the cities. #SILKROADINTLCONSULTANTS SRIIG REPORTS.

“Our goal is to be able to meet five percent of our neighboring countries’ needs, which would amount to more than $50 billion a year considering the total imports of all the 15 countries which is at least $1 trillion annually,” said.
“Necessary planning and investigations have been made for achieving this target,” he added.
The official expressed hope that the mentioned goal would be realized before the Iranian calendar year of 1400 (which starts in March 2021), saying that the Institute for Trade Studies and Research and also Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) are currently developing detailed plans to achieve this goal.

Increasing non-oil exports to the neighboring countries is one of the major plans that Iranian government is pursuing in the current Iranian calendar year (began on March 21).

Based on the data published by TPO, the value of trade with the neighboring countries stood at over $36.5 billion in the past Iranian calendar year, that is about 41 percent of the country’s total non-oil trade in the mentioned time span.
Iran plans to launch 15 mega export projects to identify more target markets, according to TPO’s former acting head, Mohammadreza Modoudi.
The official said that with the implementation of these projects, which mainly focus on the markets of neighboring countries, identifying professional trade and promoting export of non-oil commodities will be put on agenda.
Also on June 24, Sadeq Najafi, the senior advisor to Iran’s industry, mining and trade minister, said the ministry has planned that the annual export of commodities and services to Iran’s 15 neighbor countries will reach $32 billion in the current Iranian calendar year.
